Sewing Circle Welcome

Hello,

Thanks for coming here. The sewing circle is traditionally a time reserved for women’s creativity. It is a safe place to tell it like it is. It is an opportunity for women to help each other to achieve something.

In this company of women working together life events can be considered. We are each able to reflect on our lives and struggles. I have found this time sewing together can revive the soul.

My friends and I get together once a week to sew. We’ve been gathering in various combinations for over ten years. As our children grew up some of us returned to full time work. There were others who had to move away. Those of us left wondered whether it was time to call it quits. What stopped us was the thought of losing this oasis in our lives.

We have some unspoken agreements in our sewing circle. The one I love the most is that just getting there is a priority. It doesn’t matter whether you turn up with loads of food or empty handed. We all agree that there are days in life when just turning up is enough of a challenge. So you don’t worry what you look like, what your mood is, what you bring or what you sew. You just get there.
